Intro box - FAQs
  • What security measures have been taken with Gatorteams to protect my personal information and privacy?

Gatorteams provides a secure website via user name and password. The transmission of user name and password will be completed through a SSL certificate (encrypted over the internet) ensuring that no one should be able to intercept the user name and password over the internet. The level of security is similar to websites that protect user information through some kind of login and password, for example: e-commerce websites, internet banking websites, and web-based email systems.

However, if user name and password is stolen via a means, e.g. a virus in a User's PC where it records the keystrokes, then it is outside our control. Individuals should keep their user name and password safe. This same problem may apply to an internet banking site if they are based on user name and password.

There is nothing to protect the privacy of the team members from the coach. The coach has full access of team members' private information (e.g. name, email and mobile phone numbers). When allowing a user to belong to multiple teams, this would mean sharing his/her information with multiple coaches.

  • How long will free SMS messaging be offered to coaches?

Coaches will be able to send free SMS messages to their team members while the Gatorteams site is in operation. There will be a limit of three SMS team broadcasts per week per team. • Do all text and email messages need to be sent and received from the Gatorteams site?

These messages will not be sent to the coaches mobile. Any text messages sent from the coach’s mobile phone will not be recorded in Gatorteams. All team member emails will be sent to the coaches private email address, not recorded in Gatorteams.
